David holds the role of Publisher at Elite Media. David was previously Managing Director, Middle East & Africa of The Economist Group. He had responsibility for all Economist Group businesses in these regions, which included the role of Publisher of The Economist, Economist.com, Intelligent Life and The World In. He also had responsibility for Economist Conferences, Economist Corporate Network and the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).
Daniel has over 15 years’ experience in publishing and has spent the last 9 years working in the UAE. Before co-founding Elite Media, Daniel worked as Regional Group Manager for The Economist Group in Dubai. He also headed up the Thought Leadership, Custom Publishing and Media activities in the region, managing the various multi-faceted, integrated projects that The Economist Group delivered for both Corporate and Government clients in MEA.
Formerly Editorial Director CEMEA for The Economist Group’s editorial services, managing a team of analysts and editors in London, Geneva, Frankfurt, Dubai and Johannesburg. Delia frequently chairs and speaks at conferences around the world. She has chaired discussions with government leaders in South Africa, Nigeria, Turkey, Egypt and Ukraine. She has moderated events on subjects ranging from urban sustainability, healthcare and energy to corporate social responsibility and was lead author on the Siemens’ Green City Index. She has an MA in International Politics from Columbia University, a BA from Durham University and is also the author of two travel books.
Formally the Editorial Research Director , Americas for the Economist Intelligence Unit and then Vice-President of Research for American Lawyer Media. His clients over the past ten years have included KPMG, Ernst & Young, IBM, Google, Microsoft, Cisco, Ingersoll Rand, SAP and Invest in Ontario. He has held a series of high-level editorial positions at The Economist, Forbes, and the Far Eastern Economic Review in Hong Kong and has reported from six continents. He is a skilled presenter and moderator and the co-author of a book about the Japanese economy and editor of another on international relations in East Asia. Born in London, educated at Magdalen College, Oxford, Harvard University and the National University of Singapore. He now resides in New York.
Michael specialises in international business, finance and economics coverage. He has been the editor of business magazines and websites for companies including The Economist Group and Euromoney, and covered international business and finance for papers including The Economist, the Times and the Financial Times. He was the Editorial Director of Centaur’s Public Private Finance, the leading magazine and website for the global public private partnerships industry, and Europe Editor of the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Viewswire. He has also written thought leadership reports on subjects including international banking, emerging market investment and global infrastructure.
Simon is a highly experienced researcher, journalist and conference producer. He has spent over a decade producing content and events focussing on markets in the Middle East, Central and Eastern Europe and Turkey. His portfolio of work includes investment supplements and business conferences on the Gulf and Saudi Arabia. He has worked for global financial publishers including Euromoney and The Economist Group and produced a range of publications and events. Previously a director at retail financial services research house VRL, he is a director of Eurasia Insights, a regional communications and content creation business focussed on emerging Europe, the Middle East and Turkey.
Fred has worked in the publishing and content distribution industry for almost two decades. He is a director and shareholder of a consultancy that partners with Oxford Economics, Forbes, The Economist and the CEEMEA Business Group to assist multinational corporate clients in their strategic communication initiatives by generating and distributing thought-provoking content. Fred previously worked as the European Regional Sales Director for Economist Conferences and simultaneously led commercial operations for The Economist Group in Eastern Europe. In this role, he integrated thought leadership, custom publishing, and media initiatives with strategic partnerships between government and corporate entities.
Chris has worked in sales management and operations roles in Emerging Markets for over a decade, spending many years as Business Development Director CEEMEA of The Economist Intelligence Unit and subsequently Sales Manager Development Markets for The Economist Newspaper. Currently Chris also works as Operations Director at the CEEMEA Business Group which provides strategic advice to CEE/Russia & CIS/ MEA regional managers of over 360 international companies. Chris has a background in law and finance.
Previously a senior European based commercial head of The Economist, Jürgen headed their Frankfurt based operations before taking over as Publisher & Managing Director of The Economist owned Brussels newspaper European Voice, a leading source of analysis and information on EU-institutions and policies in Brussels. He has worked as an Advisor to the Future Media Lab (an EMMA spin-off) a think tank connecting media innovation and public policy across Europe and is an Associate Partner at a Public Affairs communications consultancy.
Robert spent nine years at The Economist Group, responsible for executing custom research projects for the EIU, working with clients in MEA and the UK. Before joining The Economist Group, Robert worked in the macroeconomic forecasting team at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research. In this role he contributed to the regular forecast for the UK economy and helped maintain the Institute’s global econometric model. He has also provided research assistance to John Kay in support of his regular Financial Times articles and has advised on consumer issues at the Office of Fair Trading.
Mike is former Art Editor at The Economist and former design consultant at the Economist Intelligence Unit. He is currently Design Director of The Economist’s annual publication The World in 2013. His work also includes exhibition design, books and financial print.
